Great hut trip!

Very nice hut. It was much newer and nicer then expected! We skied some of the low trees and found some great runs!

Thanks Vaughn, happy to hear you had fun! We hope you’ll come stay at the hut again. Amy and Tom

This was a fantastic trip. The hut was very well stocked and the indoor toilet was very nice! Beautiful views and surroundings. Would love to go back some time!

Awesome hidden gem of a hut!

Driving instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. Hut was well-stocked, comfortable, and clean. We (3 couples plus one single lady) snowshoed up for a night- we will come back for sure.

Weekend Overnight

Tom and Amy were great hosts, always available and helpful by phone or email. We had a lovely hike up Mount Edwards, but couldn't summit due to some pretty serious winds (we later checked that gusts were up to 70 mph). Ran into a beautiful heard of mountain goats. Hut was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Couldn't ask for more.

The road to the hut was not as expected, MUCH more rough than we thought. Four wheel drive with high clearance and off-road tires are mandatory. The hut itself was great, the most advanced hut we've stayed in (this is our 5th hut trip), yet it appears to be under construction still with just finishes left, and judging from the guest book has been under construction for quite some time. All in all a great trip, yet we'll be hiking, not driving, to huts from now on!

Great place to find rest

We could not have expected a more relaxing and breathtaking setting for a cabin about 45 mins up a rocky jeep trail. The house is well positioned to view the basin and the animals passing at dusk. Argentine pass is a great hike with a chance for a ride down from off-roaders. Talking with others, this is a place in Colorado that finds itself on many "to-do" lists.

Fun in the Tundra

Our group had a fantastic stay at the Hut, and wish we would have had time for a longer stay. Tom and Amy have the place dialed in, so that we had everything we needed for our stay. Great location in the mountains outside of Georgetown. Excellent amenities, and everything was in working order for us. Can't wait until our next visit! Thanks very much, Brian Stafford

Thanks Brian! Happy to hear you had a good time. We hope you'll come stay again. Amy and Tom

Best Weekend at the FUNdra Hut!

Amy & Tom - A group of 5 friends and myself, head up to the Tundra Hut in early April and had the BEST time. Even in the spring, we only had to hike 1 mile, then we were able to skin the rest of the way up. It's a great skin, no crazy inclines. It was many of our first hut trip and we highly recommend it for other first-timers! The Hut itself was amazing, super cozy, plenty of beds, furniture, games, and goods in the kitchen for cooking. The indoor toilet was also great - I can see that this is key in the colder months, but it was really great to have it as part of the indoors. The wood burning stove was perfect, and kept us warm when the sun went down - easy for melting snow for water and drying socks! Plenty of great lapping to do right around the hut and a mile or too closer to the saddles of the peaks. We even did a bit of sledding right outside the hut. We absolutely loved our time at the Tundra Hut, wish we had stayed for more than one night! Thanks, Amy & Tom - We will be back, and we all can't wait already! :)

Thanks Melanie and welcome to the first timers! LOVE the FUNdra Hut-ha!

Thanks for a great weekend!

I organized a group of six other people up to the Tundra hut for a one-night stay. We had a blast! The trail up was beautiful but challenging due to the fresh snow we had to break, and we were rewarded with a nice, clean cabin at tree line with a great view. The propane and grill are great perks, as is the solar panel and ability to charge phones. The hill behind the cabin has some nice slopes, too.

Thanks Andrew! Glad to hear you had some fresh snow after our looong dry spell. We hope you'll come stay again. Amy and Tom

Great stay at Tundra!

We had such a lovely stay and birthday celebration at the Tundra Hut! The hike in was challenging, but manageable for the whole group, and allowed us to enjoy our indulgent meals and desserts even more. The first two miles of the hike didn't have much snow, so we carried our snowshoes and skis. The grade was moderate and pleasant for the remaining 4 miles. The hut was very spacious and cozy with big windows offering a beautiful view of the area. We'll definitely come back again next year!
